After beating MTK Budapest (Hungary) in the back-to-back games of the UEFA EL Qualifying Round, Gabala are going to face Lille Olympique Sporting Club (France) in the next 3rd round with the away fixture on July 28 and return game on August 4.
The opponent club are Gabala”s 2nd experience against any side from the top 5 from Europe with last year EL match against Borussia Dortmund (Germany) in the group stage.
Lille was found in 1944 after Olympique Lillois and Sporting Club Fivois decided to associate together to give birth to Lille Olympique Sporting Club.
Lille won France Premier League in the 1945/1946 and 1953/1954 seasons. In this period, they also finished runners-up 2 times at the time reaching up to the domestic cup final for 7 times, where they won 5 triumphs.
