Gabala coach Elmar Bakhshiyev talks for a post-match reaction right after the 3:0 victory on Sabah in the   Azerbaijan Cup’s round of 8. The 39-year-old skipper says:

“We knew the match would be difficult. Because of the home game, our team were all to play well both in the defense and attacks. In some occasions, we were able to work it out but, anyway I’m not satisfied by the performance itself.

Introducing Ulvi Isgandarov, we didn’t plan to strengthen neither the defense nor the forward line. We just felt that the opponents would be focusing on attacks more. So we put on one forward to play in attacking display. And this ground out a good result.

Now the chances are 50-to-50 ahead of the return match. We will fix the team to a tough mission as you can face surprise in the cup. And the red card is a normal experience on the show.

It would be haste talk to say anything about the changes in the team as we are expected for another game ahead. This club has to be live long for the Azerbaijan football. I think Gabala is a flagman of the football in the country. It has good achievements as a famous club both in Azerbaijan and Europe. I believe Gabala will live long and make us all happy with its further achievements”.
