Gabala overcame Zira 2:0 in the 2nd away leg of the domestic premier league within the 6th tour. Roman Grigorchuk”s side started by their own way holding foothold in the early proceedings. Taking the early lead yielded great a result in the 19th minute when Filip Ozobic”s superb cross found Theo Weeks in the box to sweep a finish past the home keeper. This was the maiden goal of the Liberian forward in the domestic top-flight. Then Sergei Zenjov surged up the field before seeing his shot was wrong-footed.

Zira went too close to leveling but the post denied them.

The game shifted decisively towards the home side with some quick attaks but Gabala held on clear.

After the restart, Weeks set up Zenjov with an inch-perfect pass but the latter wasoff the target.

Later on, Grigorchuk introduced Dabo, the top scorer of the championship. He came one on one with Anar Nazirov, but he shot well wide over the keeper. Then Weeks doubled Gabala”s lead with his debut- 2:0.

The victory sealed Gabala”s place on top of the league table after the fourth successive win of the season. And our keeper Dmytro Bezotosniy are extending his clean-sheet matches to the eighth match that includes 778 minutes.
