Sergei Zenjov was an integral part of the 1:0 victory over Sumgayit in the 21st tour of the Azerbaijan Premier League last Sunday. Although he missed the previous match against Inter for his injury, the Estonian did a great return setting up Ermin Zec to score the only goal on the show. Zenjov talks to gabalafc.az saying:
“It was a difficult game against Sumgayit and the win was of much importance for us to move ahead on the league table. The opponent defense were playing in a strong display.
Sure you can catch some idea about the other side”s performance and the fate of the game before the match starts. And we prepare to events responding to those predictions. As it was not the first tie with Sumgayit, we knew how to struggle against them.
I am satisfied by my performance although failing to score myself. It is really gratifying to set a productive pass. We could have scored more on our many chances. But anyway, the most important is to win and we did it.
Now we are all to keep the winning run to progress into the next game against Ravan. This team also are a side playing in a strong defensive display. I am convinced we are going to be able to take this match too, scoring more goals”.
