The pace of the game started by mutual attacks and the home side took the lead with further minutes into the match. As a consequence, Tamkin Khalilzadeh went too close to opening the scoring with a poor shot in the 10th minute.
Gabala also looked pushing hard when Ricardinho set up Sergei Zenjov, whose kick from a promising position flew over the woodwork.

Gabala came on by some changes after the restart and gained the momentum gradually. As Facundo Pereyra came in, the red-black team looked more active on the forward line that seemed as a matter of time before they got too close to leveling on 46 minutes when Antonov”s close range shot was off the target. The Ukrainian”s further chance was denied by the keeper before his 3rd effort with a header went out off the post.
Gabala could have changed the socoring in the 65th minute when Dodo”s long range shot found the Zira keeper. And The home side”s counter attack was canceled by the Gabala defensive line preventing Nelson Bonilla before Popovic gave a good save to his teammates denying the opponent.
Another occasion was set by Oleksiy Gai that opponent keeper Kamal Bayramov would be unable to deflect, but the ball was converted by an opponent player”s head.
